“Editions”

Published by Editor

Current Edition 7 - current edition featuring Jan Oskar Hansen

on www.aucklandpoetry.com

What is an Edition?

Each Edition is the editors selection of the submissions since the last edition. We may make editorial decisions partly based on your comments.

Current and Fresh

The “Current” edition is linked on each page as well as the “Fresh” poem submission queue. Current - means the current edition and it also becomes the Home page of the site.

Art

Artists are invited to submit visual work that may work with poems in the Fresh queue to be featured in the next Edition.  To submit images, post them on the web somewhere (i.e. flickr.com or picassa.com provide easy methods) and send the URL to your image.  Or email the image.

Edition 6

Editions are constructed from a selection of recent posts - plus possibly a selection of movies, recordings and images and featured on the front page of the site. Editions may overlap a little, but the current edition is the HOME page of the site.

Send your images, poems, announcements, events, video links, recording links, etc by registering and becoming a site contributor.

Anyone got a decent photo of this aspect of the Auckland harbour bridge or skyline? The image needs to be cropped to 900px by 180px for the header. Send me your jpg files - views of Auckland to replace the Golden Gate image. Or post them on the site. If you have a good enough image to replace this one, then it will be permanently used in our historic edition series.

NEW - The link to AucklandPoetry in the header goes to the latest postings on the site, different to the HOME link in the top bar - that goes to the latest Edition posted.

Auckland is an unusual city. It has 51 dormant volcanoes, world famous beaches within 25 minutes or so drive, and yet as a city - it seems to have no specific character. It is the largest Polynesian city in the world. It was the seat of the original colonial government of this land, Aotearoa.

It was once a place of extraordinary beauty but mushroomed with suburban explosions through the second half of the twentieth century.

How is this city, Auckland, your home?
