I set the initial site up in 2001. Aucklandpoetry.com has evolved over the past eight years from an experiment to see how poets would interact on-line. Since then thousands of poems have been published to a world audience. There is a preference for voice of Auckland,of Aotearoa, a preference for language poetry, modernist and post-modern over "romance" angst. For me personally it is the VOICE of the work.
