The acting editor is Nicholas Alexander, an Auckland Poet and a web programmer. I set the initial site up in 2001.

Aucklandpoetry.com has evolved over the past eight years from an experiment to see how poets would interact on-line.

Since then thousands of poems have been published to a world audience.

There is a preference for voice of Auckland,of Aotearoa, a preference for language poetry, modernist and post-modern over "romance" angst.

For me personally it is the VOICE of the work.

Some poets are given the freedom to write and publish at will (Author status), these are no longer previewed by an editor.

Hope this helps, thank you for a most interesting question.

I am completing a study of poetry with Whitireia Polytechnic , can I ask the name of the present editor for Auckland poetry.com and if there are any favoured poetry styles that may effect the decision to publish.
Kind regards roan
