Dec 2008 – Site continues to grow with more regular editions. Added comment spam control. Much relief. More time to read your great poetry. There are a few Author invitations to go out. If you are submitting more than one poem and it is not being accepted or rejected just wait. Poems are being processed in sequence and the current under consideration on our blogsite: http://aucklandpoetry.blogspot.com

Nov 2008 – Author call – we have hundreds of quiet poets who have become contributors but only a handful with Authors rights (can post directory to the site, e.g. oscar). We want more Authors!

How you can help: If you see a poem that is really great – leave your comment. Anyone who has lots of good comments – will be considered for Author rights.

Oct 2008 - Edition system rethought and revised to be a regular periodic edition - which is a timed snapshot of the site. Editions may be updated at any time as decided by the webmaster/editor. The inner site – that you get to by clicking on a menu item (i.e. the /wordpress directory) will have a new design page and the design may change to produce the snapshot Edition.

How to get your poem to the top of an edition.

Obviously poets want their poems to be near the top of the edition. This is the page is that is most exposed to search engines. This means submitting very good poems near as possible to Saturday morning, New Zealand time. That is 12 hours ahead of GMT. The sequence of posting is important, but please only post one poem per poet between Thursday and Saturday night.

July 2008 – site continues to grow. AucklandPoetry will be getting a new look (this, the members site) shortly, with the next edition. We have also decided after much thinking – to split the site into two sites and announce invitations for a NZ only contributors site.

Why a new site? Why not? The Internet is a big place. I like the way aucklandpoetry has found its own audience. It was intended as an Auckland Contributors site, but its bigger than that.

POETRY,ORG.NZ represents the NZ Poet exclusively.

strong>poetry.org.nz exists as a service modelled on the success of this site, but exclusively presenting the poetry of Aotearoa / New Zealand to the rest of the world.

AucklandPoetry.com has found a US, Australian and NZ audience, plus pockets of readers from at least 21 other countries. plus and writers from all over the world (although many are, in fact, “from Auckland”). It will continue to grow as a more open contribution site.

POETRY.ORG.NZ is a magazine publication aimed at mainstream media presentation. If you want to be involved there, your contributions here will count in your favour. POETRY.ORG.NZ aims to pay a small select group of regular contributors with their own columns.

For the moment, it’s FREE to join AucklandPoetry.com as an Active CONTRIBUTOR. Current contributors may be upgraded to Author, allowing immediate posting following a run of great contributions.

17 May 2008 removed dates from pages so events posted date does not get interpreted at all.

Site growth over the past few months has been the best ever, and we are starting to see great poetry appear on these pages. We are now driving more visitors to the site with our Google adwords campaigns to raise our readership to the next level.

Editor may now “bump” poems up the list as a way of headling them. If your poem suddenly dissapears from the time sequence (in this, the contributor site) it may suddenly reappear at the top. Or it may appear “private”. This means the Editor has removed it from the flow of poems due to a lack of interest, hits or comments. If you want poems to continue to appear or be included in the next “cut” Edition – then email a link to our site to your friends.

Contributors who have successfully posted comments before will now bypass moderation clearance. AucklandPoetry.com is intended as a community work of art so limiting direct access to just a few seems wise in this world of spammers. Contributors who have had at least two comments approved should no longer require approval. Hope it works. Look forward to more interactive comment making by all. Of course, as always, your comments about site improvements can be left here.

Reviews - we now extract choice comments and preserve them with the current issue as Reviews on their own page. Has your poem received a review? Is it a good one?
